A place to talk, opening with 2027
The record begins with photographers in 2026. When it opens to the wider public in 2027, a community forum will open with it: a place for the people in the record to talk, on the record's terms, not a feed.
Not yet, and on purpose
A forum is only as good as the care around it. We are building the record first: the consent process, the review, the standards. The place to talk follows once there is something to talk about and a way to hold the conversation well.
When it opens, it will be moderated, consent-aware, and tied to the record, not an open feed chasing volume.
It is also meant to be where members help steer the record, not only talk. The intention is that members propose and choose the shared question together, recognize the photographers who represent each region, and weigh in on how the record is run, with the option to lend your voice to people you trust on a question rather than having to weigh in on everything. That idea has a name, liquid democracy, and we are taking it slowly, with a human board holding final responsibility. It opens with 2027.
